With our first design, we honor the central figure of Greek mythology, Zeus. As time has passed, Greek mythology has revolved around one god in particular, that being Zeus and his Roman counterpart, Jupiter, who has been the central figure in Roman mythology. Early Greek myths began as an oral tradition in the Bronze Age and developed into written text during the classical periods of the ancient Mediterranean world. These myths provided Greeks and many others from this time period an explanation for why things happened, from hurricanes to lightning strikes, people thought that the Gods were behind these natural occurrences. Zeus, and the stories detailing other Greek gods’ lives, played a significant role in shaping early civilization, with the ripple effects of these powerful tales still being felt today.
